Back to the Heart of It All: A Message from Tiah Algalarrondo

Running a Community Interest Company is a labour of love, and as director and art facilitator of The Arty-Crafty Crescent Club CIC, I’ve been juggling most of it on my own. From designing and leading workshops, prepping materials, getting teas and coffees, to setting up and tidying…it’s been a lot.

But thanks to the wonderful team at LinkUp London, we’ve been gifted an incredible volunteer, Mina, whose support has been a game-changer. She’s helping us gain much-needed clarity on our purpose, structure, and direction and it’s already making a big difference.

As a neurodivergent woman, I often get excited by too many ideas at once. That enthusiasm is a strength, but it also meant we started drifting from our core mission:

Supporting women’s mental health and wellbeing through textile-based art and upcycling.

So we’re pressing reset…and it feels right!

Here’s what’s changing:

🧵 A fresh new website and social media presence ready for September 2025

📅 We’re moving from changing activities weekly to focusing on one project each month, explored over four weekly sessions.

🎨 Focus on textile art, but with space to explore how it intersects with other crafts and creative practices

🤝 And most importantly : refocusing on creating a safe, supportive space for women to reconnect with themselves through creativity

But I can’t do this alone. As we shift gears, I’m still looking for a few more volunteers to help with:

• Setting up and packing down

• Making/serving drinks

• Tidying and welcoming attendees

• Being part of the warm, grounding energy that keeps this space going
