April is Autism Acceptance Month, a time to celebrate neurodiversity and promote greater understanding, inclusion, and acceptance of autistic people. As a neurodivergent artist, facilitator, and director of The Arty-Crafty Crescent Club, I’m excited to lead a month filled with creativity, connection, and community!

This year is even more special as Wandsworth is the Borough of Culture 2025, making it the perfect time to highlight the voices and talents of neurodivergent creatives. To mark this occasion, we’re expanding our usual schedule to include two additional club sessions on Saturdays, April 5 and 12 providing even more opportunities for creative expression and connection.

April’s Creative Sessions

🖍️ Thursday, April 3 : Catch-Up & Relaxing Coloring (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM)

Ease into the month with a laid-back session where you can work on unfinished projects or enjoy mindful coloring with like-minded women.

📓Thursday, April 10 : Journaling for Self-Expression (9:30 AM -12:30 PM)

Journaling is a powerful way to process thoughts and emotions. Whether you want to decorate a journal, try new styles, or simply put pen to paper, this session is about creative self-expression.

🪡Thursday, April 17 / Embroidery & Textile Art (9:30 AM -12:30 PM)

Explore the soothing and meditative practice of embroidery and textile crafts. Whether you’re stitching or creating fabric art, this session is all about slowing down and enjoying the process.

🎨Thursday, April 24 -Open Art & Craft (9:30 AM -12:30 PM)

Bring your own art or craft project, or try something new! This is a relaxed, supportive space where creativity flows freely.

🌈Special Saturday Clubs : April 5 & 12 (10:30 AM -12:30 PM)

In honor of Autism Acceptance Month, we’re offering two extra Saturday sessions.

These will be open, welcoming spaces where you can create, connect, and celebrate neurodivergent creativity.

Whether you’re autistic, ADHD, or an ally, join us to experience the joy of inclusive, creative expression.

Why This Matters

As a neurodivergent artist, I know firsthand how important it is to have spaces where we can be ourselves without judgment or pressure to mask. Creativity has always been my way of processing the world, and I want to share that with others.

These sessions are about more than just making art; they’re about building a community where neurodivergent voices are heard and valued. They’re about finding joy in self-expression, embracing different ways of thinking, and celebrating what makes each of us unique.

Join Us!

Come and be part of this neurodivergent-friendly, creativity-filled month! Whether you’re looking to complete a project, explore new creative techniques, or simply enjoy a mindful activity in a supportive space, there’s something for everyone.
